All About Me

My name Christina, I am nearing the completion of my Bachelor of Education in Elementary at Thompson Rivers University. My diverse life experiences and educational background have fostered ongoing personal development, guiding me towards a career as an elementary school educator.

I frequently spend time outdoors, engaging in activities like hiking, camping, and exploring. I have a keen interest in the Kamloops, Clearwater, and Savona regions. During my leisure time, I take pleasure in painting, photography, and being with my family. I strongly believe that having hobbies and interests outside of work contributes to a well-rounded individual. For me, self-care is crucial to my well-being and professional success.

Helmcken Falls

My favourite place to connect to nature. The sound of the rushing water from this waterfall is captivating. Located in Wells Gray, this magnificent waterfall is a place one would always wish to return to.

Dawson Falls

A short family hike also located in Wells Gray. This fun adventure takes you to a wonderous waterfall.

I currently hold an Early Childhood Education Certificate from British Columbia and have a well developed understanding of areas such as inclusion, behaviour management, and the development of child and family relationships. I am familiar with organizing field trips, and I possess leadership and strategic organizational planning skills. My experience spans working successfully with students from kindergarten to grade 7. Additionally, I volunteer in a kindergarten classroom during my free time.

I was involved in the flood relief operations during the catastrophic Alberta floods in Calgary in 2013.. Residents of these communities required a massive amount of support. I played an active role in retrieving personal belongings from residences. This image captures the severity of the 2013 flood in Calgary, Alberta’s downtown core: (downtown core) found from wwwcbc.ca.

My work with individuals with developmental disabilities in recreational and workplace settings has deepened my appreciation for the importance of inclusivity and diversity.

Upon obtaining my Child Development Worker Certificate, I applied my prior understanding of inclusion and the significance of the environment in supporting children and their families. I engaged with children aged 4-12 and initiated our Kinder-Care pilot program. It’s success led to the creation of more Kinder-Care programs based on my original design. In this certified program, children enjoyed a place-based learning experience. My goal was to build connections with families and the broader community.
